Spotlight on Pacific Lamprey: The goal of this project is to restore natural production of Pacific lamprey to a robust population level, restore missing ecological functions (such as importation of marine-derived nutrients) and provide opportunities for harvest throughout the Yakama Nation Ceded Lands and all Usual and Accustomed areas.
Spotlight on Hancock Springs: In 2005, the Yakama Nation launched a restoration effort in Hancock Springs, a tributary of the Methow River. Hancock Springs possesses unique ecological conditions that made it a prime target for salmon and steelhead habitat restoration. Currently, these federally listed fish are returning to Hancock Springs; see video below of steelhead spawning at Hancock Springs.
